Status:Active, open to new members
Coordinator:
When: Monthly on Tuesday afternoons 2:30 pm
The Group meets on the 3rd Tuesday of each month
Venue: Members' Homes
The group meets at various venues throughout the year and each member brings along a piece of work which they are working on at home. The work varies according to the individual's interest and skill. Within the group there is no direct teaching of a skill, we can learn from one another and this can spark an interest in 'having a go' at something different.
The photographs below show some examples of work done by Group members.
The quilts have been made by hand, all the patchwork designs are hand stitched. The Bobbin lace was completed after attending Lace making workshops. Cross stitch and fine tapestry work can be quite laborious, but the finished pieces are very detailed and these two pieces could almost be likened to a painting.
Hardanger work, originated in Norway and is a traditional white thread on white linen embroidery, stitching and cutting into the material to create the designs.
Knitting and Crochet are popular crafts and as well as making pieces of clothing, birds and flowers were crafted as decorations for the last Christmas Tree Festival.
New members are very welcome.
The group meets at 2.30pm on the third Tuesday afternoon in the month. The group co-ordinator is Tricia Thomas who can be contacted by email, using the Group Coordinator link above.
