Opportunities to join interest groups run by neighbouring U3As
Welcome to Grange and District u3a! We hope you’ll find plenty to interest you in our wide range of interest groups – but if you can’t find what you’re looking for with us, why not try our neighbouring u3as in South Cumbria and North Lancashire? Furness, South Lakes (Kendal), Lancaster & Morecambe, and Ambleside u3as all have their own range of interest groups, which you’d be welcome to join if they have vacancies. You can get details of all their interest groups by looking at their respective websites using the links below:
- Ambleside and District u3a
- Carlisle u3a
- Furness u3a
- Lancaster & Morecambe u3a
- Penrith u3a
- South Lakes u3a
If you think one of our neighbouring U3As might have what you’re looking for, please get in touch with the relevant contact person at that u3a. The easiest way to do this is by clicking on the relevant contact on their webpage. This will allow you to send an email message to someone able to give you up-to-date information. They should all be able to tell you more about their groups, and put you in touch with the relevant group leader if you are not able to do so directly from their website.
Payment
Furness u3a do not charge members of our u3a for the right to attend their meetings. However, all members of interest groups are expected to contribute to its running costs, just as with us.
All other local u3as currently require you to join their u3a as a paid-up associate member (rates vary from one u3a to another) before you can join any of their interest groups. Again, you’ll be expected to contribute to the running costs of the group.
