The Gardening Group cares for a stretch of about 150m of the raised beds on the Promenade Gardens on behalf of Grange Civic Society, from whom we gratefully receive some money for new plants etc. We are also very grateful to receive spare plants from members' gardens when these are suitable for the promenade conditions. The stretch of garden we look after lies between Grange railway station and the signal arm half-way to the underpass to the town centre. We garden every Monday morning for up to a couple of hours starting between 9 and 9.30 a.m., weather permitting, after which we normally go for coffee at a nearby cafe. We also normally give ourselves ar break in December and January to avoid the worst of the winter.
There are currently 3 active members of the gardening group and new volunteers are always welcome. There is no charge. Alternatively, come along and encourage the workers!
