The group is aimed at anyone, especially beginners, although we welcome more experienced geologists who are willing to share their knowledge with the group. The group has an active programme of field trips and seminars looking at Geology, and the changing Landscape, including some related industrial archaeology. The focus is mainly the Cartmel Peninsula, the Southern Lakes, and Arnside & Silverdale
In the winter months, meetings are held in the Grange Victoria Hall, Council Chamber at 2pm on the 1st Wednesday of the month. In the summer we visit various locations around the area.
This is a friendly and informal 'learn by experience' group. Prior knowledge of Geology and Landscape is not required.
If interested in joining the group, please contact Susan Jones by email using the Group Coordinator link above.
